A 24-year-old Chinese fan named Gong cycled 13,000 kilometers from East China to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to meet Cristiano Ronaldo.
His journey took seven months, from March 2024 to October 2024. Gong traveled through several countries, including Kazakhstan, Georgia, Iran, and Qatar, often relying on the kindness of strangers for food and shelter.
At one point, he even suffered a health scare but continued his journey after receiving medical treatment. Although he arrived in Riyadh on October 10, Ronaldo was in Europe at the time for a match. However, Gong was later able to meet Ronaldo on October 20, when the footballer signed his jersey and posed for photos.
