Lee Joo-Sil, known for her role as Park Mal Soon in the sequel to the hit Netflix series “Squid Game,” has passed away at the age of 81, three months after being diagnosed with stomach cancer.
The heartbreaking news has left many fans sad, with many paying their last respects to the actress on social media.
“She was a phenomenal actress,” “Rest in peace,” and “Rest in peace,” were just some of the emotional messages.
Lee Joo-Sil was diagnosed with breast cancer 30 years ago and doctors gave her just a month to live. Although she beat the disease at the time, she was diagnosed with stomach cancer in November of last year.
Born in 1942, Lee Joo-Sil began her acting career in 1964.
Throughout her career, she has appeared in numerous Korean dramas, including “Country Diaries,” “The Uncanny Counter,” and “The Present is Beautiful.”
In addition, she had a leading role in the popular drama “Beauty and Innocent Boy.”
