Justin Baldoni is facing serious financial and emotional consequences from his legal conflict with Blake Lively, his co-star in the film “It Ends with Us”.
Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, stated during a court hearing in Manhattan that his client and his partners at ‘Wayfarer Studios’ have lost millions of dollars and are “financially devastated”.
He noted that Baldoni has lost three major projects, including an adaptation of the film ‘Pac-Man’, as a result of the allegations brought against him, writes DailyMail.
It all started on December 20, when Lively filed a complaint alleging sexual harassment and retaliation on set.
In response, Baldoni filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit against the New York Times, accusing them of biased coverage.
On January 16, he filed a second $400 million lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloan, accusing them of defamation and civil extortion.
Despite the controversy, “It Ends with Us” managed to generate $351 million (€339 million) on a budget of just $25 million.
Meanwhile, Baldoni has been spotted vacationing with his family in Maui, while Lively has faced criticism for her behavior towards reporters and her promotion of her brands while promoting the film.
