Zelensky gives his version of the call with Donald Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has posted on social media after his phone call with US President Donald Trump.

According to foreign media, according to Telegraph, he said the US president told him about his previous conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and plans for immediate peace talks for Ukraine.

Zelensky said he spoke with Trump about “the possibilities of achieving peace” and that he was working with the US “to design our next steps to stop Russian aggression and ensure a lasting and credible peace”.

The two agreed to stay in touch and plan further meetings.

“I had a meaningful conversation with the US President. We spoke at length about the possibilities for achieving peace, discussed our readiness to work together as a team, and Ukraine’s technological capabilities, including drones and other advanced industries. I am grateful to President Trump for his interest in what we can achieve together,” Zelensky initially wrote.

“We also discussed the preparation of a new document on security, economic cooperation, and resource partnership. President Trump shared details of his conversation with Putin.”

“No one wants peace more than Ukraine. Together with the United States, we are charting our next steps to stop Russian aggression and ensure a lasting and credible peace. As President Trump said, let’s do it. We agreed to maintain further contact and plan future meetings,” Zelensky wrote.

His comments came after US President Donald Trump said on social media that he had spoken with President Zelensky.

He said the conversation went “very well” and that “he, like President (Vladimir) Putin, wants to make peace.”

He confirmed that further talks with Ukrainian leaders would be held during the Munich Security Conference this Friday, which will be led on the US side by Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
