Trump signs order to study how to make IVF more accessible, affordable

U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday to study expanding access to in vitro fertilization (IVF) and making it more affordable. The order seeks policy recommendations to protect IVF access and reduce costs, addressing concerns raised after Roe v. Wade was overturned, which led to restrictions in some Republican-led states. Trump, at Mar-a-Lago, also signed another executive order and a memorandum promoting government transparency and oversight. The IVF order focuses on identifying policies that increase treatment costs, following Trump’s public support for IVF after an Alabama Supreme Court ruling last year. Trump emphasized his commitment to IVF availability, calling it a solution for families struggling with infertility. Meanwhile, Trump’s adviser Elon Musk faces criticism for his cost-cutting measures in government spending. Trump and Musk’s joint Fox News interview aired Tuesday, highlighting their collaboration. That evening, Mar-a-Lago hosted a conservative event celebrating American values, though Trump’s participation was unclear.
