During a joint press conference at the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump interrupted British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who is on a two-day visit to the United States.
The incident took place while Starmer was responding to a question regarding Trump’s remarks about making Canada the 51st state of the U.S.
Reporters asked Starmer if he or King Charles III were concerned about Trump’s rhetoric directed toward a fellow Commonwealth member at the conclusion of his visit to the White House, which included discussions on trade and the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Starmer noted that the issue of Canada hadn’t come up during their discussions, and he sought to highlight the longstanding friendship between the United Kingdom and the United States. “You mention Canada. I believe you’re attempting to create a divide that doesn’t exist; we are among the closest allies and had a great conversation today…” Starmer began to say before Trump interjected, saying, “Enough, thank you,” and proceeded to call on another journalist.

Following Trump’s remarks on social media platform X, a profile called Rapid Response 47, one of the official White House accounts, shared footage from a wider angle that showed Trump looking at the journalist while interrupting Starmer.
“President Trump interrupted the journalist who sought to create a divide between the two leaders. You morons,” the account stated.
Starmer: “You mentioned Canada,I think you’re trying to find a divide that doesn’t exist.”
Trump: “That’s enough.”
Trump seems tense around democratic leaders but perfectly comfortable with Xi, Putin, and Orbán. We all know why
