Tesla’s Optimus Robots Set for Mars Exploration, Confirms Elon Musk

Elon Musk has announced that Tesla’s Optimus robots will be deployed to explore the surface of Mars. Originally introduced as household assistants in October of the previous year, these humanoid robots are expected to be sent to the Red Planet aboard a SpaceX mission by the end of 2026.

Musk has long envisioned sending humans to Mars, with SpaceX playing a crucial role in NASA’s aspirations to achieve this goal. The planned use of Tesla’s bipedal, autonomous Optimus robots underscores Musk’s growing influence in the realm of space exploration.

The Optimus robots, unveiled during Tesla’s “We, Robot” event in October 2024, were showcased as versatile assistants capable of handling various household chores and basic tasks.

“It will do anything you ask,” Musk stated. “It can be a teacher, care for your children, walk your dog, pick up groceries, or simply be your friend. Whether serving drinks or anything else you can imagine, it will perform.”
