Tragedy struck in Moore, Oklahoma, where two individuals lost their lives after heavy rainfall caused severe flooding that swept vehicles off the road, according to local police.
Authorities have recovered the bodies of an adult woman and a 12-year-old child near one of the submerged vehicles, as confirmed by Moore police spokesman Clint Byley in a statement to ABC News.

Earlier, first responders had been searching for two individuals believed to be in a Jeep after three others were reported safe. One of those rescued was indeed from the Jeep, while the other two were occupants of a truck, as reported by international media outlet Telegraph.
This flooding incident coincides with a broader severe weather alert affecting over 30 million Americans this Easter weekend, as various states in the Heartland have already experienced tornadoes, hail, and damaging winds.

In response to the crisis, police indicated they were assisting “more than a dozen” drivers whose vehicles had become stranded in the rising waters.
