Halle Berry was among the stars gracing the red carpet at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival — and this time, all eyes weren’t solely on her acting credentials.
The actress made a striking appearance at the premiere of Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning wearing a Celia Kritharioti gown — a dramatic, corseted, voluminous pink dress with a long black train. Paired with Chopard jewelry and jeweled heels, this bold ensemble drew considerable attention, especially given the festival’s recent rule updates.
Just before the festival began, organizers revised their participation guidelines, emphasizing certain restrictions. Notably, the updated document banned nudity in any festival venue and highlighted limitations on dresses with excessive volume or long trains that could impede movement or create logistical issues. The rules explicitly stated:
“For organizational reasons, dresses with excessive volume, especially those with long trains, that hinder guests’ movement or complicate landing, are not permitted. Staff reserve the right to deny red carpet access to those who do not adhere to these regulations.”
In truth, Berry’s gown was far from modest and arguably challenged the new guidelines. While it’s debatable whether she fully followed the protocol, her stunning look undeniably made the organizers forget about the rules — at least for a moment.
