Soong Mei-ling, also known as Madame Chiang, was a distinguished political figure and the wife of Chinese President Chiang Kai-shek. Remarkably, she was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 40 but defied the odds and lived until the age of 106. Her longevity was partly attributed to her healthy lifestyle, which was influenced by Traditional Chinese Medicine. This included maintaining disciplined daily routines and paying close attention to nutrition.
Her daily schedule was structured, with a bedtime of 11 p.m. and waking at 9 a.m., and she dedicated two hours each day to creative pursuits. Her diet emphasized fresh, natural foods such as lemon-infused cold water, kiwis, pineapples, lychees, celery, and spinach. She practiced mindful eating by consuming five small meals a day and stopping when she was approximately 70% full—a habit that inspired many, particularly those interested in weight management.
Soong Mei-ling passed away in 2003, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and health.
