Kim Kardashian has officially graduated from law school, honoring the legacy of her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., a renowned attorney who gained fame as part of O.J. Simpson’s defense team.
The Hulu reality star shared the milestone with fans through heartfelt Instagram Stories, posting clips from an intimate backyard graduation ceremony surrounded by family and friends. Kardashian completed California’s four-year Law Office Study Program, an alternative path to becoming a lawyer without attending traditional law school.
“I finally graduated law school after six years!!!” she wrote over a video captured by her sister Khloé Kardashian. In the footage, her legal mentor, CNN commentator Van Jones, grew emotional while praising her dedication.
“Six years ago, seven years ago when you were working on criminal justice, you were not embraced by anybody,” Jones said. “You were working with people who were thrown away—often by their own families. You were working with people who were literally one step from the grave.”
Kardashian has long been an advocate for criminal justice reform. During Donald Trump’s presidency, she played a pivotal role in securing clemency for Alice Marie Johnson, a grandmother serving a life sentence for nonviolent drug offenses, after meeting with Trump in the Oval Office in 2018.
In December 2021, she passed California’s challenging “baby bar” exam (First-Year Law Students’ Examination), a major hurdle in her legal journey.
A Family Affair
The graduation celebration was a star-studded, family-filled event. Kardashian shared playful moments, including her youngest son, Psalm West, dressed as a tiny lawyer with a briefcase, and study flashcards repurposed as lunch placemats.
Khloé Kardashian posted an emotional tribute, saying, “I am so proud of Kim. I just left her celebration lunch for graduating law school—I mean, I cannot believe this is years and years in the making.” Sister Kourtney Kardashian Barker also attended, sharing a clip of herself in a cap and gown with the caption, “Supportive sister.”
Even Ivanka Trump joined in the congratulations, posting a photo of Kardashian in her graduation cap with the message: “Congratulations Kim! You did it! My favorite law school graduate!”
With her legal studies now complete, Kardashian continues to blend her celebrity influence with advocacy, carving a unique path in the legal world—just as her father once did.
