US President Donald Trump Indicates Openness to Pardon for Sean “Diddy” Combs Amid Trial
On Friday, former President Donald Trump stated that he is open to considering a potential pardon for renowned music producer Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently on trial in New York facing serious charges.
During a press conference, Trump was asked whether he would consider granting a pardon to Combs.
“Nobody has asked me yet, but I know some people are thinking about it,” Trump responded. “I believe certain individuals have come very close to making that request.”
Combs was arrested in September 2024 on allegations of participating in a structured criminal network, involving drugging and forcing women into sexual acts. If convicted, he could face life imprisonment.
The investigation was partly initiated by a civil lawsuit filed in 2023 by his former partner, Cassie Ventura, who accused him of physical abuse and rape. Although that case was quickly settled, multiple other women filed similar lawsuits in the subsequent months.
Combs initially denied the allegations. However, in May 2024, CNN released surveillance footage from a Los Angeles hotel showing him physically assaulting Cassie at an event dating back to 2016. Following the footage’s release, Combs issued a statement on Instagram, admitting that his behavior was “inexcusable.”
