“Trump’s Son Asked Whether He Will Run for President After His Father’s Term Ends”

Eric Trump Suggests He or Other Family Members Could Run for President After His Father’s Term

Eric Trump has hinted that he or another member of the Trump family might run for president once his father’s second term in the White House concludes.

As co-vice chairman of the Trump Organization, Eric stated that the path to the presidency “would be easy” if he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps.

In an interview with the Financial Times, he remarked: “The real question is: ‘Do you want to include other members of your family in this? … Would I want my children to have the same experience over the last decade that I have?’”

He added, according to The Guardian, “If the answer was yes, I think the political path would be easy, which means I think I could do it. And, by the way, I think other members of our family could do it.”

Unlike his siblings Donald Jr. and Ivanka Trump, the 41-year-old has largely stayed out of politics, focusing on managing the family business since his father took office in 2017. However, he has kept an eye on political developments, expressing that he finds himself “totally unimpressed by half the politicians” he encounters and believes he could perform the role “very effectively.”

Eric also addressed criticism that his family has profited from the presidency. When asked whether the White House has become a vehicle for family wealth, he responded: “If there’s one family that hasn’t profited from politics, it’s the Trump family.” He explained that the family had spent nearly $500 million “just protecting themselves from Russian fraud, false accusations, dirty dossiers.”
