Toronto Assures $30,000 Payout for All Passengers of the Plane That Crashed at Pearson Airport

Delta Air Lines to Compensate Passengers Following Plane Accident at Toronto Pearson Airport

Delta Air Lines has announced plans to compensate each passenger onboard the aircraft that overturned during its landing at Pearson Airport in Toronto.

In a remarkable turn of events, all 80 passengers survived the incident, even though the plane skidded on its landing, catching fire before being toppled by powerful winds.

The airline will provide $30,000 to each passenger, with a representative from Delta emphasizing that this compensation is unconditional and does not affect the passengers’ rights.

Attorney Rochon Genova, representing those involved, stated in a BBC interview that the $30,000 from Delta serves as an advance to assist passengers in managing urgent financial concerns, and that the airline may seek to deduct this amount from any future compensation claims.

The crew and rescue personnel received praise for their swift actions, successfully evacuating all passengers from the aircraft.

Additionally, Delta reported that all 21 passengers who were hospitalized have been discharged as of Thursday morning.
