On Wednesday, Hunter Biden requested a federal judge to dismiss his lawsuit against former Trump aide Garrett Ziegler, citing financial difficulties as the main reason. In court filings, Biden’s legal team highlighted that his income had “dropped significantly” and that he is burdened with substantial debt.
Biden’s situation worsened due to wildfires in Pacific Palisades, which rendered his rental home “unlivable.” His team argued he should prioritize finding housing and addressing family expenses over litigation.
Biden initially sued Ziegler and his company, Marco Polo, in September 2023, alleging violations of state and federal laws regarding the creation of a searchable database of 128,000 emails linked to him. Ziegler, who previously called the lawsuit “completely frivolous,” unsuccessfully sought to have the case dismissed.
In related documents, Biden revealed he could not borrow money and has seen a significant decline in income from art and book sales. He also faces allegations of owing over $300,000 in unpaid rent, with landlord Shaun Maguire questioning the impact of Biden’s recent pardon on this debt.
