The Bachelor alum Catherine Giudici posted an update after her husband, Sean Lowe, was attacked by their family dog, Moose.

Catherine Giudici shared a message of support for her husband, who she met on season 17 of The Bachelor in 2012, one day after the couple revealed that Sean had been attacked by their family dog.

The mother of three—who shares Samuel, 7, Isaiah, 6, and Mia, 5, with the former Bachelor—posted a photo of her husband sharing a sweet kiss with their youngest child with their arms reaching out to one another. In the Instagram snap shared March 18, cuts and stitches—presumably from the attack—are visible on Sean’s arm.

Catherine captioned the picture, “We love this man so much.”

The update comes one day after the couple shared the harrowing story involving their dog Moose, a boxer they adopted just three months ago.

“Our family has been through something pretty traumatic over the weekend,” Sean, 41, said in a video shared to Instagram March 17 in which Catherine, 38, sits tearfully by his side. “We’re torn up about it.”

The Home by Sean and Catherine Lowe cofounder recounted being at home barbequing with friends when the smoke alarm started to go off after smoke drifted inside an open door to his house. After grabbing a dish towel to waft smoke away from the alarm, Moose started to bite it and nipped at Sean’s fingers, which—the reality star noted—is “something that he does not do.”

The dog then started biting at his shoes so aggressively that he “put holes” in them. Around this point, Sean recounted, a “switch flipped” in Moose and he “turned into an absolute killer.”

“I don’t mean, like, bite and run off like a lot of dogs do when they’re scared or defensive,” he explained. “I mean, attacks me, and I feel him just kind of ripping into the flesh of my arm. At this point, I am doing everything I possibly can just to fend this dog off.”

By the time he and his friends were able to get Moose into the backyard, Sean was already “bleeding badly.”

“I just see blood squirting,” he recalled. “Thank god that that my friends were there because they were able to rush me to the ER.”

The former reality star ended up receiving stitches in “five or six different places” on his arm before returning home and being attacked again while getting his children ready to go to his parents’ house to spend the night amid the fallout with Moose.

“We’re getting the kids in the car, and I see Moose running out the front door,” Sean shared. “He made a beeline right at me, and just lunged and started attacking me again. He’s ripped my arm open. I’m fighting for my life here. I feel like if this dog gets up, he is going to kill me.”

“It took everything I had to control this dog—and I’m 220 pounds,” he added. “If it were anyone else, he would have killed my children or my wife, but I was able to hold him for 10 minutes until the cops came.”

Despite having to return to the hospital for more stitches, Sean said he doesn’t “blame” Moose—who he’s currently working with a no-kill shelter to figure out the best new housing option for—for the incident.

“It’s clear he experienced a lot of trauma before we got him and had something neurologically wrong with him,” Sean shared, explaining how Moose was “just an affectionate, lovable Boxer” before the attacks. “There was something about that smoke alarm that flipped this switch in him.”
