Donald Trump Says No Peace Between Russia and Ukraine Without His Meeting Putin
Donald Trump has stated that no progress will be made toward a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine until he personally meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The former US president made this remark while traveling aboard Air Force One during a four-day tour of the Middle East.
“Nothing will happen until Putin and I meet,” the 78-year-old said, according to Sky News.
As reported, peace talks between Russia and Ukraine are scheduled to take place today in Istanbul.
However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has described the Russian delegation sent to the Turkish city as “decorative” and low-level.
Meanwhile, neither Trump nor Putin has traveled to Istanbul during this period, and Ukrainian President Zelensky is currently in Turkey, where he met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
