Taylor Swift may have subtly sent a message to Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, after gifting a copy of her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, to Teyana Taylor.
The thoughtful present, which included a handwritten note from Swift, quickly sparked speculation among fans that the pop superstar’s gesture might have carried more than just friendly intentions.
On Tuesday, October 14, Teyana shared the gift on Instagram Stories, captioning it, “Thank you Tay Tay!!” alongside a photo of the box set and Swift’s note. In the note, Swift wrote, “Well hi! If you’re someone who has shown love, someone I admire and ultimately someone I’d want to celebrate with as we welcome The Life of a Showgirl into the world, I hope you like the gifts and record! With love, a showgirl named Taylor Swift.”

Many fans believe the gift was a subtle jab at Kayla Nicole, who previously revealed that she dressed up as Teyana Taylor for Halloween following her split from Iman Shumpert.
Nicole described herself as “devastated” and “heartbroken” at the time, and her costume was a recreation of Teyana’s iconic outfit from Kanye West’s “Fade” music video. The timing and nature of the gift have led fans to speculate that it may have been a playful or pointed nod in Nicole’s direction.
The petty yet telling moment drew a response from Teyana at the time, who called the stunt “distasteful and uncalled for,” suggesting it appeared to be a calculated attempt to attract attention.
“She knew exactly what she was doing,” Teyana wrote in a lengthy Instagram post. “That lady said, ‘She was famous at the time,’ and also said, ‘I don’t care who sees it.’ It was very distasteful and uncalled for. Dressing up like me, for what?? The crazy part is, I actually showed love under her post when she shared it — just like I did with the other 373,626,262 people who dressed up as me for Halloween.”
Meanwhile, Kelce and Swift are now engaged after two years of dating, a milestone they announced in August. Teyana Taylor has also moved on and is currently dating actor Aaron Pierre.
