The PlayStation Network is now back online, the service has announced, after experiencing a multi-hour outage that began on Friday evening.
PlayStation said the network was now “fully restored” and apologised for the outage, but did not say what caused the problem.
The outage reportedly made online aspects of games such as Fortnite, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto and Marvel Rivals inaccessible and caused issues with license verification for offline single-player games, the BBC reports.
According to DownDetector, the problem began shortly before midnight on Friday night.
In a message on X, PlayStation said: “Network services have fully recovered from an operational issue. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank the community for their patience.”
“All PlayStation Plus members will automatically receive 5 additional days of service,” the statement added.
