A deep-sea fish was recently caught on camera in a rare moment off the coast of Tenerife, Spain.
Condrik Tenerife, a Spanish conservation organization, and marine photographer David Jara Borguna shared the footage of the unusual fish in an Instagram post, reports Telegraph.
The post described the sea creature as “a legendary fish that few people have had the privilege of observing alive.”
The video shows the extraordinary and menacing fish swimming from its depths, allowing it to be observed in a stunning way outside its habitat.
“It is a true predator of the deep,” the post says.
The images also left their mark on social media as it is rare for fish that live so deep in the ocean to be seen in shallow waters.
