Patrick Schwarzenegger Addresses Nepotism Claims Regarding His Role in “The White Lotus”
Actor Patrick Schwarzenegger has spoken out about nepotism and the notion that he landed a role in the acclaimed series “The White Lotus” solely because of his family ties.
The 31-year-old, known for being the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, expressed his frustration over perceptions that his success is attributed to his famous parents.
“I understand that some people believe I only got this role because my dad is Arnold,” he remarked in a recent interview.
Patrick emphasized that those who criticize him often overlook his dedication to the craft, which includes 10 years of acting classes, hours spent honing his characters, and hundreds of auditions that resulted in rejection.
“It’s disappointing to hear. Sometimes I wish my last name didn’t carry so much weight, but I would never trade my life for anyone else’s. I feel incredibly fortunate to have my family and the lessons and values they’ve instilled in me,” he reflected.
Before securing his part as Saxon Ratliff in the third season of “The White Lotus,” Patrick showcased his talent in noteworthy roles in productions like “Scream Queens,” “The Staircase,” and “American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez.”
He also credited his father with sparking his passion for acting, revealing that he fell in love with the craft at an early age. However, his parents encouraged him to explore various industries, leading to collaborative projects along the way.
