Former White House press secretary and current Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany has opened up about her challenging experience trying to conceive her second child. After welcoming their daughter, Blake, now three, McEnany, 35, and her husband, former MLB player Sean Gilmartin, aimed to expand their family in mid-2021. They celebrated the arrival of their son, Nash, in December, but the journey was fraught with difficulties.
In her new book, *Serenity in the Storm: Living Through Chaos by Leaning on Christ,* McEnany shared the stark contrasts between her two pregnancies. She faced anxiety by spring 2022, with numerous negative pregnancy tests prompting her to question, “Why wasn’t I getting pregnant?”
Her faith provided comfort, guiding her to “pray with expectation.” After a prayer from a woman named Kathy at an event, McEnany felt inspired. Despite several negative tests, she later achieved a positive result, confirming her pregnancy. Grateful for her son, she acknowledged that many women endure longer struggles with infertility and that motherhood can remain a dream for some.
