A wedding day is meant to be filled with love, happiness, and special moments. But for David and Heather Mosher, their wedding was different. It was a day of both joy and sadness.
David and Heather met in 2015 and felt an instant connection. They took a dance class together and quickly realized they were right for each other.

On December 23, 2016, David proposed to Heather. It was a romantic moment—a horse-drawn carriage, city lights, and a heartfelt proposal. Heather said yes.
But that same day, Heather shared devastating news. She told David that doctors had found a suspicious lump in her breast.
Just five days later, the doctors confirmed the worst: Heather had a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer. The outlook was not good.
They had planned their wedding for December 30, 2017, but as Heather’s condition worsened, they knew they couldn’t wait.
By December 22, nearly a year after the proposal, they decided to have the wedding in the hospital. Heather was too weak to stand, so she remained in her hospital bed, surrounded by family and friends.
One of her closest friends said:
“She was determined to marry her soulmate.”

At that point, Heather was so weak that her family had to drape the wedding dress over her. But she still found the strength to get dressed and go to the hospital chapel for the ceremony.
Every breath, every word was a challenge. But Heather didn’t stop. She said her vows with all the strength she had left.
These were the last words she ever spoke.

Her friend Christina said:
“It was a miracle… Even though she knew she was near the end, she was happy. She wanted it to be a celebration.”
Heather passed away just 18 hours later. She was only 31 years old.

On December 30, the original wedding date, David and their loved ones gathered at the same place—but this time, for Heather’s funeral.
Christina, who photographed the wedding, shared the photos online. They touched hearts all over the world.

Even in sadness, Heather and David’s story reminds us to cherish love and live in the moment.
