Ryan Reynolds Defends Blake Lively in Court Against Justin Baldoni’s Alleged Harassment
Actor Ryan Reynolds has taken a public stand to defend his wife, Blake Lively, by filing a document in a New York court that criticizes Justin Baldoni for his “hurt feelings.”
Reynolds referred to Baldoni as a “predator” and called for his removal from the ongoing legal proceedings. He alleges that Baldoni harassed Lively while they were filming “It Ends With Us,” leading to a series of mutual defamation lawsuits between the involved parties.
In the extensive 38-page filing, Reynolds portrays himself as a devoted husband who has witnessed the emotional, reputational, and financial struggles Lively has faced. He emphasized his right to criticize Baldoni, asserting that the First Amendment protects his contempt for any individual he believes has harassed his wife.
The legal dispute adds another layer to the complex dynamics among Baldoni, Reynolds, and Lively. The conflict began when Blake Lively filed a lawsuit in December of the previous year, claiming that Baldoni instigated a “slander campaign” against her amid escalating tensions on the set of “It Ends With Us,” alongside allegations of sexual harassment.
In response, Baldoni filed a countersuit seeking $400 million for defamation against Lively, Reynolds, and The New York Times.
