Courtroom Drama: Diddy’s Lawyers Mention Whitney Houston as They Cross-Examine Cassie

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyers caused a stir in a New York courtroom as they continued their defense against charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, unexpectedly referencing the death of singer Whitney Houston from a drug overdose.

It remains unclear why the defense chose to bring up Houston’s tragic case during the proceedings.

Meanwhile, attention remains on Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, who is serving as a key witness in the trial. Currently pregnant, Cassie testified about a decade-long relationship marked by physical and emotional abuse.

She claimed that Combs raped her after she ended their relationship, while he allegedly threatened to release degrading sex videos. Cassie described the relationship as violent and voyeuristic, with Combs controlling many aspects of her life, including arranging meetings with male sex workers.

She also revealed that she used up to 10 large bottles of baby oil during a session to achieve the “glow” look he desired.

During Thursday’s cross-examination by defense attorney Anna Estevao, Cassie was asked to read her past messages, including one in which she said she “loved crazy people so much.” Throughout the session, Combs appeared somber and was seen whispering to his attorney that he was “proud” before questioning began.

Combs’ defense team has acknowledged instances of domestic violence but denies involvement in sex trafficking or blackmail. They argue that he is being targeted because of his sexual orientation.
