Trump Proposes 50% Tariff on European Imports and Threatens Apple with Additional Tariffs

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a proposal to impose a 50% tariff on all goods imported from the European Union to the United States, signaling a further escalation in the ongoing trade tensions with Europe.

In a social media post, Trump stated, “Our discussions are going nowhere!” and added that the proposed tariffs would go into effect on June 1.

Additionally, Trump threatened Apple with a minimum 25% tariff on iPhones not manufactured in the U.S. He stated, “I have informed Tim Cook that I expect iPhones made in America, not in India or other countries.”

Economic experts warn that these threats could disrupt financial markets and strain international trade relations. However, it remains uncertain whether these measures will be actually implemented.
