Harrison Ford Shares Surprising Insights About His 15-Year Marriage to Calista Flockhart
Harrison Ford recently revealed a surprising secret about his 15-year marriage to Calista Flockhart during a guest appearance on the show “Wild Card” with Rachel Martin. He reflected on what the years have taught him about love.
“Old people can fall in love. You know, you think about falling in love and all that. You think it’s a matter of youth or something, but the real challenge is staying in love. To hold on, to nurture it, and to avoid destroying what you have—that’s the important part,” Ford shared.
When asked how long he and Flockhart have been married, Ford responded, “If you ask me, I’d say my whole life. I got married for the first time when I was 23, which should probably be illegal,” he joked.
Ford’s marital history includes his first marriage to Mary Marquardt before their separation in 1979, and a marriage to screenwriter Melissa Mathison from 1983 until their divorce in 2004. He married Flockhart in 2010.
Speaking about his current wife, Ford emphasized: “The romantic part is one of the most exciting and fulfilling kinds of love, and I believe there’s potential for it at every stage of life. I wasn’t surprised that I fell in love, nor was I surprised that I did.”
