Dua Lipa attempted to remain incognito as she ventured out in Melbourne on Friday.
The pop sensation is in Australia for her Radical Optimism tour, which is currently captivating fans at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
Dua, 29, concealed her iconic features behind a pair of designer sunglasses after enjoying a rejuvenating morning at the Saint Haven Wellness Centre in Collingwood. She indulged in an hour and a half of pampering—an ideal way to spend her day off ahead of her next performance, scheduled for Saturday.
Despite her restful morning, Dua appeared somewhat somber, reflecting the overcast weather in Melbourne. She opted for a chic, dark ensemble, donning a long black leather coat that fell to her knees and matching black pants, the hems of which were tucked into black sneakers that trailed through the mud in the ongoing rain.
Adding a pop of color to her look, she wore a red, pink, and white striped polo shirt beneath her coat. Her dark hair cascaded down her shoulders in relaxed waves, maintaining her signature pop star appeal.
To accessorize, the “Levitating” hitmaker carried a silver Chanel clutch, which comes at a staggering AUD $10,000 price tag, yet she seemed unconcerned about the rain ruining her appearance. A member of her team followed closely behind, holding an umbrella to shield her from the relentless downpour.
Dua kicked off her five-night run at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Monday. As a special treat for her Australian audience, she delivered a cover of AC/DC’s classic “Highway To Hell.” A clip shared by the Instagram account LipaFans showcased the singer performing the track to an enthusiastic crowd. Dua’s interpretation offered a much softer take compared to Bon Scott’s iconic version, leaving fans pleasantly surprised.
Dressed in a black lace bodysuit paired with striking red hot pants, Dua looked at home on stage, especially with a white feather brooch adding a touch of rock and roll flair. Audience response was enthusiastic, with one fan commenting, “Dua singing an AC/DC song? I love it even more now.”
At her second Australian show, fans experienced another delightful surprise as Dua was joined by ballerinas, who elevated her high above their heads during her lively performance. She also honored Australian music by singing “Torn” by Natalie Imbruglia, paying tribute to one of the country’s beloved artists.
Dua’s tour in Australia will continue with two additional shows at Rod Laver Arena, concluding on Sunday, March 23, before she moves on to Sydney for three shows at Qudos Bank Arena and then travels to Auckland for two performances at Spark Arena.
While many fans were thrilled by her Australian shows, some expressed discontent over the high ticket prices. One concertgoer shared a screenshot of tickets costing $349.90 (around €321,000), lamenting, “Why are Dua Lipa/Ticketek activating premium prices for her Australia shows?” Another added, “Why are Dua’s ticket prices so outrageous? How can it be $460 (€423) FOR EACH? This is unacceptable.”
Dynamic pricing has faced backlash from concertgoers, as ticketing platforms continue to implement this practice worldwide. By adjusting prices based on demand instead of setting a fixed rate, it often results in exorbitant ticket prices that frustrate attendees.
