In a surprising turn of events, Sia has become a mother for the third time!
The 49-year-old musician welcomed her third child, her first with husband Dan Bernad, 11 months ago, as revealed in divorce documents obtained by PEOPLE.
Following the filing for divorce, Sia brought Somersault Wonder Bernad into the world on March 27, 2024.
In the divorce proceedings, Sia is seeking both legal and physical custody of Somersault but is open to allowing visitation rights for Bernad. The specifics of physical custody will be worked out between the parents.
Sia and Bernad tied the knot in a private ceremony in May 2023, attended by just six guests, including the couple themselves.
Prior to her marriage to Bernad, Sia was already the mother of two teenage sons, both 18 at the time, who were on the verge of aging out of the foster care system.
In a 2020 interview with InStyle, she reflected on her journey to motherhood, expressing that she “had wanted to be a mother my whole life.”
