Hollywood vs. Trump: De Niro Wears His Criticism Proudly as Celebrities Take Sides

The longstanding feud between Robert De Niro and Donald Trump is intensifying once again, marked by sharper public exchanges and heightened political implications.

At 80 years old, De Niro remains one of Trump’s most vocal critics. Since Trump’s first presidential campaign in 2016, the Oscar-winning actor has been unabashed in his criticism, calling Trump “nuts,” “a wannabe gangster,” and even “a real racist,” going so far as to compare him to Hitler.

Never one to stay silent in the face of criticism, Trump has responded over the years by calling De Niro “brain damaged” and “a total loser.”

As Trump prepares for another run at the presidency amid multiple legal challenges, the feud has escalated. Recently, De Niro publicly urged Americans not to vote for Trump during an appearance on The View. Shortly thereafter, he was seen speaking outside Manhattan Criminal Court, where Trump’s high-profile hush money trial is approaching its conclusion.

The case involves alleged falsified business records related to a $130,000 payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, who claims she had an affair with Trump in 2006. Trump has denied the affair and pleaded not guilty to all charges.

With the election season heating up, more celebrities are weighing in—expressing opinions, outrage, and endorsements—transforming the De Niro–Trump rivalry into a prominent flashpoint in Hollywood’s political landscape.
