Tom Cruise has upset many fans with his response to a question about Father’s Day, amid ongoing controversy over his strained relationship with his daughter Suri Cruise, whom he has not seen in over 11 years.
At the premiere of “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning,” a reporter asked him, “Father’s Day is coming up. What would an ideal Father’s Day look like for you?”
Tom appeared momentarily confused, then replied, “I know…,” and looked into the distance before adding, “I’m just having fun.” He then shifted the topic to his work, saying, “Making films, having great adventures, and having a good time.”
Fans took to social media to criticize his response. Many expressed anger and disappointment, with comments like “What if you could meet your daughter, whom you abandoned more than a decade ago?”, “Losing him,” and “The man is completely disconnected from reality.”
It is known that Suri gave up her father’s surname two years ago. Unlike Tom, she and her mother, Katie Holmes, have chosen not to be involved with the Church of Scientology, which has reportedly led to their estrangement. Despite this, Tom has two other children, Connor and Isabella, with whom he maintains a good relationship.
