Sydney Sweeney Opens Up About Her Teen Struggles Living in a Holiday Inn After Her Family’s Bankruptcy
Actress Sydney Sweeney has shared her experiences of hardship as a teenager, revealing that she spent eight months living in a Holiday Inn after her parents filed for bankruptcy.
In an interview with The Times, the “Euphoria” star, now 27, recounted that at age 16, she and her family were forced to reside in a hotel room in Burbank after losing their home in Washington.
“There were four of us in a small room, no kitchen, no balcony. My brother and I tried to make it fun—like ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody,’” she said.
Since those challenging times, Sydney has achieved significant success. Today, she owns several luxury properties, including a £4.5 million (€5.27 million) villa in Bel Air, a Tudor-style house in Los Angeles, and a £10.2 million (€11.93 million) resort in the Florida Keys. She is also looking to expand her real estate investments to locations such as New York, Texas, Italy, and London.
In the interview, Sweeney confirmed that she is currently single, following her split from fiancé Jonathan Davino, with whom she had been in a relationship since 2018. “I’m enjoying this phase of spending more time with my friends and getting to know myself better,” she stated.
Meanwhile, she has been generating buzz with her latest project—a collaboration with Dr. Squatch to produce a soap made from her “bath water.” Promoted as an ironic response to social media’s obsession with celebrity culture, she shared on Instagram, “Introducing my real bath water soap,” which elicited mixed reactions from fans.
Despite the controversy surrounding her unconventional product, Sydney continues to grow her career—diversifying from acting to real estate and creative ventures.
