Legendary Singer Connie Francis Passes Away at 87

Connie Francis, renowned for her 1960s hits “Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool” (1961) and “Pretty Little Baby” (1962), has passed away at the age of 87. Her death was confirmed by her manager.

“It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that I share the news of Connie’s passing last night,” wrote her music rights and revenue manager, Ron Roberts. “I know Connie would have wanted her fans to be the first to hear this sad news.”

In recent years, her song “Pretty Little Baby” experienced a remarkable resurgence, going viral on TikTok. After the song’s sudden popularity, Francis joined the platform, where the track has been featured in over 17 million videos and viewed more than 27 billion times worldwide.

“I’m amazed and thrilled by the incredible attention my 1962 song ‘Pretty Little Baby’ is receiving,” Francis commented recently. “To think that a song I recorded 63 years ago is inspiring a new generation is truly mind-blowing.”

“Pretty Little Baby” was part of her 1962 album Connie Francis Sings “Second Hand Love” & Other Hits, which reached number 111 on the Billboard Top LPs chart at the time. In May of this year, the song also entered Spotify’s global and U.S. charts for the first time.

Born on December 12, 1937, in Newark, New Jersey, as Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero, Connie Francis is estimated to have sold over 200 million records worldwide during her illustrious career.
