Bear Opens Car Door and Searches for Food Caught on Colorado Home Security Camera
A home security camera in Colorado captured a surprising wildlife encounter when a bear opened the door of a parked vehicle and climbed inside in search of food.
The footage, recorded outside a residence on the northeast side of Breckenridge, shows the bear approaching the car and using its paw to pry open the front door. Once inside, the bear appears to be rummaging through the vehicle’s interior.
The extent of the damage caused to the car remains unclear.

In late April, the Breckenridge Police Department issued a warning to residents, noting an increase in bear activity in the area.
“Be prepared — spring is nearing, and so are the bears,” the department advised.
They emphasized the importance of securing vehicles: “Always keep your doors locked to prevent unwanted wildlife from entering.”
