Czech Zoo Issues Alert Following Family Allegedly Abusing Monkeys

Czech Zoo Issues Public Appeal After Family Caught Teasing and Feeding Monkeys in Dangerous Manner

A zoo in the Czech Republic has issued a public appeal following a disturbing incident where a family was filmed teasing and feeding monkeys inappropriately and potentially endangering the animals.

Despite prominent signs clearly banning contact and feeding the creatures, the family not only interacted with the monkeys but also pulled them by the tail and offered them unknown food, which could be toxic, according to reports from Telegraph.

The footage shows a man and a woman—believed to be the parents of a young blonde girl nearby—tempting the monkeys with food. One of the monkeys reaches out to take the food, but as it tries to leave, the woman pulls it by the tail.

Zoo officials expressed their concern over the behavior:

“This unacceptable conduct could have serious, even fatal, consequences for our animals. Touching and feeding them against the rules puts their health at risk,” a spokesperson said.

The zoo has circulated an appeal on social media to identify the family involved. They are also investigating what type of food was given to the monkeys in order to assess any potential health risks and implement necessary precautions should the animals have ingested something harmful.
